This Privacy Policy explains how Palmetto Motor Company (“we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, and protects the information you share with us when you use our website at palmettomotorcompany.com. We've written this in plain English because we think you should be able to read it without a law degree.

We only collect information that you give us directly, plus a small amount of operational data needed to keep the website running.

Information you submit through our forms

• Contact form — your name, email address, phone number (optional), the nature of your inquiry, and the message you write.
• Trade-in form — your name, email, phone number, and information about your vehicle (year, make, model, mileage, condition, VIN if you choose to share it, and any additional notes).
• Find Me A Car form— your name, contact info, and your criteria for the vehicle you're looking for.

Operational data we automatically receive

When you visit our website, our hosting provider (Vercel) automatically receives standard HTTP request information — your IP address, browser type, the pages you visit, and timestamps. This is the kind of information every website receives by default and is used to operate the site, troubleshoot errors, and protect against abuse.

What we do NOT collect

• We do not use third-party analytics tools (no Google Analytics, no Facebook Pixel, no tracking scripts).
• We do not use advertising cookies or behavioral tracking.
• We do not integrate with social media tracking pixels.
• We do not buy data about you from third parties.

We use the information you give us to:

• Respond to your questions
• Provide trade-in quotes
• Help you find a vehicle
• Communicate with you about a vehicle you're interested in
• Keep records of our customer interactions for normal business purposes
• Comply with legal obligations

We do not use your information for marketing campaigns, do not send unsolicited promotional emails, and do not text you unless you've asked us to.

We share your information with two categories of recipients:

Service providers that help us run the site

• Supabase— hosts our database. Your form submissions are stored on Supabase's servers under our account.
• Vercel — hosts our website. Vercel handles the web requests and may log technical information about them.

Both providers are bound by their own privacy practices and required to handle data securely. We don't allow them to use your data for any purpose other than providing services to us.

No one else for marketing purposes

We do not sell, rent, or share your information with advertisers, data brokers, or other dealerships.

Legal disclosures

If we're legally required to disclose information — for example, in response to a subpoena or court order — we will, but we'll only share what's required.

We keep your information for as long as needed to serve you and to maintain reasonable business records. Contact inquiries and trade-in requests are kept while the inquiry is active and for a reasonable period afterward. If you ask us to delete your information, we will, except where we're required to keep it (for example, for tax or legal compliance).

Our website is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 13. If you believe we have, contact us and we'll delete it.

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we'll change the Effective Date at the top. If we make significant changes, we'll try to make them obvious. Your continued use of the website after changes means you accept the updated policy.
